CHINESE Re-education Policy
The policies of Chinese government such as forced "re-education" represent a direct attack on the cultural expression of Uyghur people in Xinjian region.Since 2017, the Chinese autorities have detained an estimated 900,000 to 1.8 million Uyghurs and other Muslim minorities in so-called "re-education camps", covering it as a fight against "islamic extremism".However, in reality, these re-education camps are aimed at complete erasure of Islamic beliefs of detainees and a total reprogramming of their political thinking and identities. Moreover, within these camps, torture, harsh interrogation, forced medication, and rape are common.
